A dark origin story starring the talented Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips. Director Todd Phillips wanted the titles to represent the period, 1981. So both main on end titles (Antenna) and end title cards (Scarlet Letters) output to film recorders, then scanned back in to get the film texture and degradation. This resulted in a nice vintage look. Incidentally, movies and titles largely finished on film not just through the 80s but the 90s also. Many movies are still shot wholly or partially with film cameras.
